IT IS TIME TO BEGIN PLANTING!
Click here for Tree & Plant Sale Order Forms Early February each year the Piscataquis County Soil & Water Conservation District begins to advertise our bare root stock plant sale in an effort to encourage plantings that protects the soil and fosters wildlife habitat. Many varieties of plants are available. Due to the fact that we are not a nursery, all orders are subject to the quantity that we are able to purchase from our vendor and are filled on a first come, first served basis. Pre-paid orders are accepted and will need to be picked up on time from the District office in the USDA Service Center, 42 Engdahl Drive in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine.
IT IS TIME TO STOCK YOUR PONDS! YOU MUST HAVE YOUR PERMIT WITH YOU AT THE TIMEOF PICK UP FOR US TO PROVIDE YOU WITH YOUR FISH!
Click here for a Permit Application Due to changes in Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife rules, there are several new things to consider when purchasing trout. We are no longer able to accept orders for trout unless a copy of the current permit is submitted at the time of order. That means, customers will have to contact IF&W for permits before ordering fish. Click here to view/download the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Permit Application for Private Pond Stocking and/or the 2009 Trout Sale Price List and Order Form. All trout-stocking permits issued will be for a five-year period, for a $10 permit fee. Customers holding current permits will not have to pay the fee until the next time they need to renew the permit. Walk-in applicants will no longer be able to receive their permits the same day from IF&W, since the Department does not handle currency, they also require that permit applicants pay by check or exact change. Pre-paid orders, along with a copy of your permit, need to arrive at our office by Thursday, May 11th in order to meet the sale deadline. The Trout Sale pick up date is Saturday, May 7th. Please be prompt, the life of your fish depend on it!
We enjoy providing this service to you, and look forward to each spring, when we see you again! The Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District is a non-profit organization. All proceeds from our fundraising efforts are used to promote conservation and the wise use of our natural resources. The Piscataquis County SWCD is an equal opportunity provider and employer. |
